Sam Hendricks NTP

Prior to receiving her Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Certification, Samantha graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. She simultaneously received a Comprehensive Certification in Pilates in 2015. As a dancer and Pilates instructor she was able to get in touch with her body and listen to what it needed.

After college her health started to rapidly change and she began to feel more digestive discomfort, period pain, and overall hormone peaks and valleys. Samantha saw many physicians but ultimately kept being met with no answers.

She took it upon herself to self educate and find out the root causes for her pain and discomfort. She had tried many different elimination diets but ultimately had to work on reconnecting to her natural intuition with what she needed. After self educating and tweaking her diet, she had reduced her pain and symptoms by 90%!

What a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Does

Samantha is certified through the Nutritional Therapy Association as an NTP. This Includes:

  • Intake client information
  • Make an assessment of imbalances
  • Work with systematic dysfunction
  • Introduce nutrients via food or supplementation
  • Make recommendations and referrals.

As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Samantha focuses on the endocrine system. By using a holistic bio-individual approach to balancing hormones, she is able to work with women just like herself in a safe space to achieve their goals. Some of the foundational areas of focus include:

  • Diet (Nutrient consumption)
  • Digestion
  • Blood Sugar Regulation
  • Mineral Balance
  • Hydration
  • Fatty Acids

Sam takes each client and uses information on their family history, genetics, current imbalances and conditions, to individually make the assessment of what plan and recommendations may be best for them.

Samantha became her personal health advocate and through her search for a pain-free life found nutrition to be a huge piece to the puzzle.

After completing her NTP Certification she dove deep into the Endocrine System and its links with nutrition. She received her Functional Hormone Specialist Certification through The International Association For Functional Hormone Health.

Our bodies can be affected by food down to a cellular level. When it comes to hormones, nutrients play a major role in their functionality.

As women, we are taught that hormones operate out of control and we just have to get through it. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. The hormonal rollercoaster we accepted doesn’t have to be the reality we choose. Hormones aren’t the bad guy just the messenger to systemic dysfunction in other areas of the body.
